Nuclear Fusion Experiment

Posted by:

We are honored to have been involved with supplying a custom vacuum chamber to Scott Moroch, a high school student from New Jersey who pursuing research in Nuclear Fusion and other high vacuum experiments. We couldn’t say it any better so here are Scott’s own words:

“Dear Ron Hooper,

I would like to sincerely thank you again, along with everyone at Huntington, for all of the help on my project and for fabricating the beautiful chamber. For the past month and a half we have been working with the chamber and it has worked beautifully for our project. I am very happy to announce that with this chamber we have achieved detectable deuterium+deuterium nuclear fusion! Public relations at the New Jersey Institute of Technology interviewed us as they will be writing an article about the project. During the interview we stressed how much Huntington helped us with the project and pointed out the components that were donated.

I am attaching several images of the assembled project to this email. Please feel free to post these on social media and/or your website. In addition, I am attaching two videos, one of which shows the device in action while the other scans through all of the components of the project. I can also provide Huntington with a write-up on myself and the project.

I will send you the article from public relations at NJIT when it is published. I really hope they mention Huntington as I stressed the importance of the company in my project’s success. I plan on continuing experimentation with this current project of nuclear fusion and also using the chamber for many other high vacuum applications, such as particle accelerators. I am entering my senior year of high school and I can guarantee that this chamber will be used for many years to come.

Thank you again for everything. I will make sure to keep you updated with my research.

Best Regards,

Scott Moroch”
